Job Post Details

Role: Member Engagement Leader

Company: ACEC British Columbia

The big picture:

We are looking for a new team member to join as our Member Engagement Leader, supporting us to advance the business of consulting engineering in BC.

This role is ideal for a tech confident person who feels energized by helping people; you will be the hub for our team, and the go-to for our members.

If you are looking to join an organization that puts collaboration, innovative thinking, community, equity, diversity, and inclusion at the forefront of everything we do, this may be the perfect role for you.

What you will do:

As a key member of the team, you will lead member practices like on-boarding, renewal, and correspondence. Your role will be defined by what you bring to the team, and how you would like to learn and grow.

Some examples of what you may do:

Member champion – your role is about ensuring members have the right information to support engagement with the Association, supporting them to access information, connect with our resources, and understand our practices.

Event PM – working with the team, you will ensure our events run smoothly by keeping us on track, managing communication with member organizers, and supporting backroom technology for virtual events and front of the house when we are in-person.

CEO partner – you will be a key partner for the CEO, taking on responsibility for things like office operations, ensuring our facility and supplier relationships run like clockwork.

Learning liaison – you will support our Leadership in Consulting Engineering Certificate course by project managing the program including applications, coordination of learning modules (scheduling and communicating with facilitators and students) and supporting backroom technology.

Your experience and approach to work:

You are a self-starter – you have integrity; a track record of making plans and delivering on promises. You are confident in your ability and can balance competing priorities.

You are curious – you are open, respectful, and seek to understand. You love to learn and work collaboratively seeking and valuing different perspectives to inform your work.

You adapt – you have credibility when communicating whether with CEOs or early career professionals. You seek and foster relationships that provide insight with team members in all areas of an organization. You are at ease whether working on your own or directing traffic at a large conference.

You are “tech confident” – you have experience with standard business tools and open to working with new or different digital tools.

You probably have other skills and experience not listed here and we want to better understand you and your aspirations. For example, maybe you have some experience with graphic design, contract management, bookkeeping, web editing, human resources, or have a green thumb and are keen to look after our tropical plants! As a small team we welcome the opportunity to reshuffle our work to find the right fit and balance for each person.
