McElhanney is pleased to announce that we have an opportunity for a Regional Vice President – Prairies South to join our executive team. As the Regional Vice President, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the future of our organization, while leading the ongoing development and success of four thriving branches: Calgary Engineering, Canmore, Geomatics Major Projects, and Calgary Geomatics. You will be focused on leading the strategic direction for business across Southern Alberta with a strong preference for candidates with significant experience in Transportation, Transit, and Municipal Engineering services for major clients across Alberta. You will engage in active collaboration with our Regional Vice President – Prairies North, and the McElhanney Market Sector VPs, aligning on collective objectives and KPIs emphasizing the expansion and prosperity of engineering and geomatics teams across Alberta fostering growth and success across all McElhanney cornerstones, including People & Communities, Clients & Partners, Processes & Technology, and Financial.

The successful candidate would be based out of Calgary with the ability for frequent travel across Western Canada.

Working closely with our President & CEO, Vice Presidents, and other Executive Committee Members, you will contribute to the planning and execution of McElhanney’s strategic direction by bringing market awareness and insights to the executive table. As a leader who prioritizes communication, you find ways to bring back relevant information that energizes, inspires, and guides the direction of your regional teams. At every level, you are known as the inspirational leader who encourages collaborative relationships, growth, and development.   • You work with market sector, technical service group, and branch leaders to develop, execute, and continually adjust a multiyear strategy that is aligned with strategic objectives which meet Key Performance Indicators across McElhanney’s four cornerstones of People & Communities, Clients
  • & Partners, Processes & Technology, and Financial.
  • You work closely with managers of regional branches in an advisory capacity to set clear goals, create plans to achieve milestones, and improve branch performance.
  • You work with other Executive Committee members to identify and pursue strategic hires and acquisition opportunities that are aligned with the company purpose, values and goals.
  • You meet with branch managers regularly to review, track, adjust, and report regional progress.
  • You embrace technology to meet current and future client, industry, and McElhanney needs to help transform the infrastructure industry with unrivaled innovation and data insights. You lead the way in identifying how these data insights integrate with key services in your region.

As an Achiever, you are exceptionally talented at motivating your teams to reach their targets. Your level of enthusiasm is the jolt they can always count on.   • You manage regional financials such as revenue, profitability, lock-up and revenue factor rates.
  • You oversee annual budgets, KPIs, quarterly forecasting, and accounting oversight (invoicing
  • and collections).
  • You collaborate with leaders and conduct key client check-ins on a regular basis which results in winning business, building our reputation, and contributing to sustainable company growth.
  • You actively champion safety to ensure staff think safe, work safe, and get home safe, and you ensure quality management standards are achieved.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A track record of building and fostering strong relationships within an organization, while
  • delivering performance objectives.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate responsibilities and motivate others to produce high-level results.
  • Ability to interact, work with, and advise senior leadership across a complex firm, often working on highly confidential, time-sensitive matters.
  • High degree of leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proven willingness to embrace technology to meet future client, industry, and McElhanney needs.
  • Strong organizational and communication (written & verbal) skills.
  • A track record of business development and fostering long-term client and partner relationships including entering new markets, gaining new clients, and/or providing new services.
  • Preferably a Professional accreditation in Engineering with a track record of developing junior talent
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive work experience at the equivalent of manager level or above managing a team of at least 25 people.
