Marc Winer Appointed by ACEC-BC to the MMCDA Board of Directors

The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – BC (ACEC-BC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Marc Winer, P.Eng., MBA to the Master Municipal Construction Documents Association Board of Directors.

As a founding members of the MMCDA, ACEC-BC appoints two members to the Board. Marc will be joining Joel McAllister, P.Eng., as our industry representatives. Together they will continue to support governance for the MMCDA, including oversight of the MMCDAs learning and development and advocating for the use of standard forms of agreement.

In selecting Marc, the Nominations Committee recognized his long-term commitment to ACEC-BCs purpose and his leadership within the Association as a member and Past Chair of the Municipal Engineering Committee. Marc’s extensive municipal engineering experience has provided him with considerable experience with the entire MMCDA suite of documents, and a strong understanding of the purpose of the MMCDA.

Marc is a civil engineer with over 25 years of experience in the design, specification, and construction of municipal infrastructure across British Columbia and Western Canada. An active contributor and leader with ACEC-BC, Marc has served as Chair of the Municipal Engineering Committee, on the Membership Affairs Committee, and has served with the ACEC-BC Board of Directors. Marc is a strong advocate for fair and balanced contract language and is passionate about ensuring the voice of consulting engineers is heard across the industry.  His commitment to advancing the profession and fostering collaboration continues to make a positive impact within the industry

About MMCD

The Master Municipal Construction Documents Association (MMCDA) was founded in 1995 to create documents to support fairness and consistency in procurement of services to support design and construction of municipal infrastructure.  The Master Municipal Construction Documents are foundational to successful delivery of BC municipal infrastructure, assuring all parties are working together under common conditions. The documents were created to be fair to all parties, easy to read and understand, and designed to minimize confusion and disputes.

The 10-member MMCDA Board includes representatives of the municipal construction industry including municipalities, associations, and the province. Each contributing agency is responsible for appointment of representatives. As a founding member of the MMCDA, ACEC-BC holds two positions on the Association Board. Members of the Board also participate in Committees including the Documents, Referee, Marketing / Education, Asset Management, Civil, or Electrical.
