ACEC-BC is seeking a member for appointment to the Engineers and Geoscientists BC Professional Practice Advisory Group!

ACEC-BC appoints one member to serve as industry representative on the EGBC Professional Practice Advisory Group (PPAG). The PPAG reports to the Director, Professional Practice, Standards and Development and is charged with providing advice on issues that influence the practice of professional engineering and professional geoscience in BC (for example, practice guidelines and advisories). Appointees to the PPAG serve a 2-year term, renewable up to two times for a maximum possible commitment of 6-years. Meetings are held at least 4 times per year and may be attended in person or virtually
To support representation of ACEC-BC member interests, we are seeking a candidate with more than 15-years of experience in consulting engineering including broad exposure to issues related to regulated practice. The candidate must be a professional registrant of EGBC (P.Eng., P.Geo., P.L.Eng., or P.L.Geo.) who is not currently the subject of an investigation or disciplinary process, and is able to comply with current EGBC volunteer guidelines. Based on the make-up of the PPAG, structural engineering practice qualification and experience is preferred, but not required.

Interested members are asked to submit a short CV and supporting details regarding alignment with the needs of the role. Members are asked to provide a letter of support from their firm unless they are the senior voting member for the firm in BC. Candidates will be considered by the ACEC-BC Nominations Committee and recommended to the Board for appointment.
