DESCRIPTION:October 9\, 2024  |  In-person in Prince George\n\n\nJoin ACEC-BC’s Northern Region Young Professionals Group for a presentation on Preparing for Engagement with Indigenous Communities with guest speaker Maggie Marsland! \nMaggie will be providing insights from a government and industry perspective and sharing ideas and suggestions for how consulting engineers can best prepare for engagement with Indigenous communities. \nThe presentation will cover: \n\nConsultation and Engagement\nIdentifying Indigenous Communities\nInformation Gathering\nPreparing yourself\nPreparing materials\nBringing it all together\n\n \nAbout Maggie\nIndigenous Relations\, Sidina Consulting \nMaggie Marsland\, RPF\, Cert ConRes brings over 32 years’ experience working in natural resources management\, with a focus in Indigenous Relations. Relationship building is a key component to reaching successful outcomes. Maggie builds and maintains strong relationships with Indigenous communities and is keenly interested in understanding Indigenous culture. \nPrior to becoming self-employed\, Maggie worked 26 years with the B.C. Public Service (BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure\, Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation\, Forests).
