The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – British Columbia (ACEC-BC) is pleased to announce the election of its 2025–26 Board of Directors, confirmed during the Annual General Meeting held on July 17.
Taking over as Chair of the Board is Ian Steele P.Eng., President, Senior Systems Engineer from PBX Engineering, Vancouver.
A broadly recognized leader in the BC consulting engineering industry, Ian is a vocal and engaged advocate for our purpose and values. His energy, commitment to industry growth, and his investment in developing future industry leaders will undoubtedly serve all members of ACEC-BC over his term.

Following the AGM, the Board appointed Matt Gellis to the Executive Committee as Designated Director, Secretary. Matt joins current members of the executive William Johnston (WSP), Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Tanya Sadlo (McElhanney), Past Chair.
Suzanne Powell, Ph.D., P.Eng., Chair of the Nominations Committee, emphasized the depth of leadership within this year’s candidates:
“Each nominee brings a distinct perspective informed by their role, organization, region, and lived experience. Taken together with returning Directors, this ensures the Board reflects the breadth and diversity of our industry and membership.”
In addition to Ian Steele and William Johnston, who were re-elected, ACEC-BC members welcomed three new Directors: David Collings (Collings Johnston), Darren Sokoloski (AECOM, and Tina Burgess (Jensen Hughes Canada).
Continuing Directors were also recognized by members for their on-going service. Joining the new Chair and newly elected Directors are returning Directors Christopher Scollard (Kiewit Engineering Group), Erin Martin-Serrano (PBX Engineering), Jay Rao (exp Services) , Joe DiPlacito (Ram Consulting), Kathryn Ekman (McElhanney), Kip Skabar (Stantec), and Lillian Siu (Associated Engineering).
The Board also appointed four Directors for a one-year term including: Jayson Walker (Urban Systems), Jeff McLellan (BFL Canada), Joe Braun (Flow Engineering), and Selena Wilson (Mott MacDonald).
With a strong belief that we’re better together, ACEC-BC board members are responsible for representing the interests of all our members in everything that we do. Along with ensuring operational alignment and approval of governance, our board serves as the voice of the Association to policymakers and other key stakeholders.
